Breaking ground on new warehouse in Kparblee District
Our Economic Development Ministry is expanding!. Phase 1 was the creation of a Transportation Program … which is in place and operating at a small profit. Phase 2 was the purchase of a 3 acre farm … and the ground is now being prepared to grow cassava and other crops. And Phase 3 is the establishment of two cassava milling operations. We are excited to announce that we are breaking ground on our first cassava milling room and warehouse!
This milling operation and warehouse is possible through a partnership with Farmers Keepers, lead by Richmond Gayetaye. CRI is providing finances for the building and milling equipment … and will make our truck available for transportation to market. Farmers Keepers and 22 farmer groups will provide the labor to construct the warehouse and to run the mill.
The warehouse is near our Medical Clinic in Kparblee District. This is a very remote and economically depressed region. Some of the flour will be consumed by the farmers and their neighbors; but much of the harvest will be sold in the marketplace to bring some much needed income to these communities.
Thank you for praying for Richmond and the farmers. We can’t wait to share more with you in the months ahead!
